Sisterhood Camp, A creative retreat for women run by Lou Archell, is but a few days away. This will be my fourth Sisterhood event, having been involved as the stylist/art director from the start and, as it always is for me, it is a privilege to simply gather with women. It is a pleasure to meet new friends, and hear their experiences and struggles. It’s a privilege to have space to be creative, and it is my greatest privilege to style and curate the beautiful spaces in which those things happen.
This summer retreat will be extra special for me as Auden will be joining me there. My wonderful florist friend Erin wont be joining us as her baby is still very small (I will miss her!) but Lucy Franks is coming along to help me, and Laura and Cathy, and of course Lou too, so I will have an excellent team!
My propping and preparations for the summer camp have reminded me about the Winter Retreat which was in November, which I have been remiss about sharing. So here are some photo’s. It feels a little strange to be delving into these cosy, frosty photo’s, but also weirdly welcome in this heatwave!
On Friday night, I chose an all White theme, and we decorated plates with White napkins, and cotton. On the table, we gathered shells, antlers and white flowers, and we covered the chairs with sheepskins and LinenMe towels.
(All photo's of the Friday night are By Lou Archell)
On Saturday night I wanted to go for a much richer, more colourful look, so we chose jade coloured napkins, and decorated plates with mini feathers and KumQuats. I gathered dark green bough’s of fir and filled the table with peachy blooms, gold tea light holders and lots of vintage brass candle sticks. We again covered the chairs and benches in sheepskins to keep guests warm and cosy. Also, It is extremely difficult to take nice photo's at night with candle light! All of the linens, including the towels on the back of the chairs are by LinenMe.
Erin and I ran an informal flower crown workshop too, so that the guests could wear a crown to the Saturday feast.
And here are a few other photo’s of a very special weekend of making, friendship, vulnerability, beauty and honesty.
So, I shall soon be back with my photo's of Sisterhood Camp Summer! Readers, are any of you going to be there? Please let me know and do say hI!
